What is Anamu Leaf?

Anamu leaf is from the Petiveria alliacea plant, a tropical medicinal herb found in Central and South America and Africa. Anamu leaf is edible and traditionally chewed for oral health. Herbal teas and infusions of Anamu leaf are also used in herbal medicine.1,2

Anamu Leaf Health Uses and Health Benefits

Anamu leaf has several health benefits, including anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties for arthritis and joint pain. Chemicals found in Anamu leaves also show antimicrobial, antifungal and antiviral properties for fighting colds, flu and other infections. Anamu leaves have also been studied for their anticancer properties as they have shown to kill certain cancer cells and may help with tumor treatment.1,2
