What is Epsom Salt?

Epsom Salt is a natural compound that contains magnesium and sulphate. It’s obtained in a solid state and is usually diluted or broken down in warm water to give an “Epsom Salt Bath”. The magnesium contained in Epsom Salt is a vital mineral that’s crucial to the human body, keeping blood pressure normal, heart rate steady, and bones strong.1,2 The “Epsom” name comes from the location in England where it was originally mined. Depending on tolerance and allergic reaction, many people suffer tremendously from an insect bite. Epsom Salt soaks can significantly reduce the discomfort. The salt can also be topically placed right on the bite mark.

There are few known side effects for Epsom Salt. It’s always used externally, or topically, and not meant to be ingested or inhaled.[1]
